The update on the mapping report was recently published by the European Commission on 25 October 2016. The new reports provide a comprehensive study for France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Slovakia and Poland.
Overall, a higher demand for ethical businesses and a larger scope of specialty fields have allowed an increase of employment rate in the social entreprises sector that cruises around 20% for countries such as Italy or Beigium.
Challenges for the future include a more efficient legal framework for social entrepreneurs and a better regulation between the private and public market as well.
